Digix2 is a digital coaxial cable dedicated for S/PDIF connection offering improved isolation from outside noise and interference due to another independent shield used in the wire construction. Inner shield together with the multi-strand core create the wave guide necessary for the data transmission while the outer screen separates the wave guide from interference. This protects data stream from modulation by the external noise which takes place in a typical coaxial cable where the same screen shares two functions of the data wave guide construction and signal ground connection. Due to some resistance of the shield, induced interference adds to the data flow. In the Digix2 coaxial cable the whole wave guide is separated from noise.
